APPROPRIATE CLOTHING

All children should wear clothes that allow them to move freely and participate in messy play, so please bear this in mind. The nursery cannot be held responsible for any items of clothing that may become damaged.

Please ensure that all your child’s clothes are clearly named and please provide a spare change of clothes on a daily basis as well as spare nappies and wipes, if needed. Please bring sun hats when it is hot and sunny and wellington boots when it is wet as we place much emphasis on outdoor play. We will provide all-in-one waterproofs but children can bring their own if they wish.

POTTY TRAINING

If your child is at the age where they are going to begin potty training then we are more than happy to help them make the transition. We ask you to provide your child with plenty of spare clothes, nappies and wet wipes to ensure that their personal hygiene is kept to a high standard at all times.

SUN CREAM POLICY

During warm weather we will provide sun cream at a cost of £1.50 for the year or parents/carers can provide sun cream for their child in a clearly named bottle and it must be SPF of 50+. Read our sun protection policy below.

INSET DAYS & BANK HOLIDAYS

The nursery is closed on bank holidays and for a small period of time over Christmas. Throughout the year the nursery has five inset days when we are closed all day. These days form a vital part of staff’s continuing professional development and allow opportunities to plan for the future.

MEALTIMES

We feel it essential that children have access to a full cooked meal each day to give them the right fuel to enable them to be happy and healthy and perform to the best of their ability.

A mid-morning snack and afternoon snack are provided at nursery and all meals are included in fees. Our daily lunch menu is planned to provide the necessary nutritional requirements for young children and is varied on a four-week rota it is served at 11.45am (please see menu). At tea time we serve high tea such as Pitta breads served with tuna and sweetcorn/cheese and tomato, followed by custard this is served at 4pm.

Let us know if your child has any special dietary requirements we will ensure that they are fully catered for.
